Lithuania possesses neither splendid natural oil resources nor gold mines. On the other hand, we have a wonderful gift of nature – infinite forests, climate, suitable for their growth, and hard-working people, able to transform wood into amazing products. Activities of our companies prove that with wise stewardship timber can be used for creation of strong and successful business. We are learning about the subtlety of this business from our partners in Western Europe. They closely observe our growth, raise the quality bar, and support our expansion of timber processing industry in the Eastern Europe. We align our goals and business strategy not for one day's payback. Instead, we plan our future to last for decades. During several past years “Vakarų medienos grupė” was busy renovating its production units and building a new, modern particleboard producing factory “Girių bizonas”, which was launched in 2007, and works to its full production capacity. Even more modern factory will soon be built in Belarus. We have also directed our investments to Ukraine. Our oldest wood processing company has a history of over 100 years. This is the best assurance that we are located in a strategic place and possess a solid know-how on what can be produced from timber.

• JSC “Vakarų medienos grupė” was established in 2002. The company invests into wood industry companies and supplementary businesses, related to this sector such as energy production and freight services.
• Now VMG controls 6 companies, producing melamine faced particleboard, plywood items, oak panels, and furniture made of particleboard and solid oak.
• VMG is among the largest exporters of wooden products in the Baltic States.
