Klaipėdos mediena

• SC "Klaipėdos mediena" – produces particleboard, melamine faced particleboard, and kitchen frame furniture.
• Since 2002 the production of particleboard is certified according to ISO 9001 standard.
• In July of 2001 a new particleboard melamine facing line with annual capacity of 60 000 m³ was installed. The installation of this line has forwarded the company into a new phase of development. Until then SC “Klaipedos mediena” was producing particleboard as raw material. Installation of the melamine facing line has equipped the company for the production of value added products - melamine faced particleboard and furniture, made from the melamine faced particleboard. This step played as a key element in the beginning of fruitful and successful cooperation with Swedish world - famous company IKEA.
• In 2002 a long term project in cooperation with IKEA was finalized. The new furniture and finish foil faced particleboard producing factory with the furniture production space of almost 10 000 m² was launched. The company invested 22 mln. LTL into this project. The yearly capacity of the new frame furniture production line reaches 6.0 mln. m².
• The company constantly invests into modernization of its production line. As a result of that the turnover increased by 23% from 2006 to 2009.
• EU funding helped "Klaipedos mediena" to invest in furniture production and increase its capacity three times. In 2012 company is launching a new kitchen range production.
• To be even more cost efective and competitive "Klaipedos mediena" plans to invest in a new double capacity particle board production.  
• Now the company employs close to 500 highly qualified employees.
